Table Tennis Is Great For Families

Saturday, December 4th, 2010

A lot of people think table tennis is a competitive sport but the truth is that it is equally enjoyable as recreation. In fact, it’s perfect for families because it’s easy enough for all ages to play and doesn’t require much specialized equipment when played casually. Table tennis tables are the perfect addition to any recreation room. They can also be placed in the garage or basement as long as dampness isn’t a big concern.

When it comes to playing tennis table casually, you really only need a table tennis set to get started. You might also need to get a separate table if this isn’t included in your set. Most sets have bats, balls, and a net and many include the table as well. The advantage of buying everything together is that you can usually save a bit of money and you know that everything you’re buying will work well together. Inexperienced players might have trouble matching up the bat with the right ball but with a set all the brainwork is done for you so you can just pick everything up and start playing.

The table is a great place for families to gather around and watch the action. It’s a game that can be played by either two or four players. If one player is significantly better, it could even be played by three players. For example, a father could play against his two children because adults tend to play better and having two kids versus one adult evens out the playing field a bit. Kids who aren’t in the middle of play can also get in on the action by being assigned tasks like fetching stray balls or keeping score. This way everyone is included in the fun!

Another good thing about getting into table tennis is that it’s a sport that can keep you entertained year-round. Most tables are designed for indoor use, which means that even on the coldest winter day you can still get some exercise and play sports without even leaving the house. All table tennis tables can be used outdoors as well, but if they aren’t designed for outdoor use specifically, it’s important to store the table inside and avoid playing outside when the weather is wet or humid so that you don’t cause damage to the table. Most tables have wheels as well which makes moving them from place to place a snap.

Table tennis is a sport that is fun for the whole family.

Airsoft For Beginners

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

Airsoft is a great sport to get started in playing, for one thing it can help you get in shape (if you’re a couch potato). For myself I just love to be outdoors and playing a fierce game with my close friends and many times with people I have never met before. I can’t tell you all what sort of people plays Airsoft. I’ve met doctors to ex-military captains, high school teenage to 55 year old retiree. So it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from as long you love the sport, it’s all fun and games. Here are some tips for you first timers with playing Airsoft.

Safety
Safety is the utmost importance when it comes to playing Airsoft. These airsoft gun fires bb’s at 200+ feet per second (FPS) and they can cause serious damage if you got hit at the right spot. I’ve seen all types of injuries due to a person not wearing the proper safety gear when playing Airsoft. The most important gear that you should always wear when playing is a face mask or goggles with a half ski mask to cover your mouth. The face mask will protect you from getting hit with a BB in your eye which CAN make you go blind and the mask will also protect you mouth/teeth from getting hit.

Guns
Second, you should have a gun ready to play but you don’t have to worry about having your own gun. If it’s your first time playing, there are guys who bring multiple guns to the playing field and if you ask them nice enough you can probably borrow theirs for the day. When you do decide to pick your own gun you have a variety to pick from, an Airsoft sniper rifle like a JG Bar 10 or Airsoft automatic machine gun like the AK47. There are also hand guns like the Desert Eagle or a simple Airsoft revolver. Word of advice, do not buy cheap airsoft rifle! Whichever gun you plan to purchase always remember you get what you paid for.

Team player
Third but not least always play as a team, it’s not fun when you go out there gun blazing like Rambo because for one, you not only put yourself in jeopardy but you also put your whole team in jeopardy. Airsoft is a very tactical style of game play and you’ll have to strategically a plan of attack against your enemy to have a chance to win. I have seen some Airsoft battle last as long as 24 hours! You might think that is crazy but these guys love the sport and when a battle last that long, you know these guys are real thinkers. So always play as a team, remember there’s no “I” in “TEAM”.

In summary, Airsoft is a great sport, yes I call it a sport because it takes skills and endurance to play a great game of Airsoft. For a beginner, safety should always be on your mind while playing and never to second guess another person ability when firing a Airsoft gun. On that note, go out there and have fun. I promise you’ll have an awesome time playing Airsoft!
