All About the Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip Game for Wii

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Some people are simply addicted to adrenaline rush. Maybe you know someone like this, and maybe you actually have a sneaky sort of admiration in your guts for him. A lot of these addicts enjoy snowboarding, as there’s no other explanation for why they like to go flying down mountains at top speed risking their necks on certain death due to collision with other people, trees, stumps or the odd avalanche here and there. Only a few people actually have the guts or chance to participate in snowboarding, at least prior to now.

With the Wii game, Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip, you will be able to go flying down the slopes at amazing speed, whipping around obstructions and performing amazing tricks. As a fringe benefit, this game is also a wonderful workout. For a lot of games, Wii accessories are recommended but not required; and the same is true of this game. However, it would not be the same game without using the Wii Fit Balance Board. It is possible to play using the Wii remote, but it’s not nearly as much fun as when you use the balance Board.

People who actually snowboard — even professionals — have said that playing this game causes you to feel like you are actually on a mountain. The Wii Fit Balance Board gives you the sensitivity you need to be challenged and experience the adrenaline that snowboarding offers. You can set the level of sensitivity to a level that suits your experience level, so anyone can enjoy playing this game, even grandma or grandpa.

People who have never had the opportunity to snowboard will enjoy this method of experiencing it. And of course like all Wii games, the sound effects are very real, the scenery is beautiful and the music can be changed to suit the user, all of which makes the game that much more enjoyable. But don’t worry, even if you are an expert snowboarder, you are still going to enjoy and be challenged by this game. You simply set the sensitivity on high, and the game makes it more challenging because it forces you to complete a slope successfully before you can go on to another one.

In order to play the game, you move faster by leaning forward, you slow down by leaning back, you change direction by leaning to the appropriate side, and to jump you just bow your legs and bounce up. As you can see it’s very intuitive and you are constantly in motion.

Your adrenaline will only continue to climb as you graduate from Canadian slopes to more difficult ones like Chile and Switzerland. And of course you get to do all of those with Shaun White and his crew, which really is the capper on the game.
